The Dream Team of K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021!
K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021 concluded in August 2021 after 18 days of high-intensity Kabaddi. 10 teams, 160 players took center stage in Future Fighters Kabaddi Academy, Gurugram. The young players made use of this platform to showcase their skills and many even caught attention from PKL Franchises before the PKL 8 Auctions.
NK Kabaddi Academy went all the way to win the title in style as they were the best team of the tournament.
In this article, we will look at the dream team from the tournament.
Raiders
1. Meetu (Right Raider, Bhaini School)
Sensational Meetu was seen in action for the Bhaini School in the K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021. Bhaini School was one of the strongest teams in the K7 Qualifiers as they topped their pool in that tournament. Coming into the K7 Kabaddi Stage Up with Meetu in their squad made them look super dangerous before the tournament began. Meetu as expected wiped out defenses of all teams he played against and stamped his authority from game 1. He scored 20+ raid points in a game 3 times out of 5. His best performance came against P & J Academy, the eventual runners up of the tournament. Meetu scored a whooping 29 raid points in the match accounting for more than 60% of his teams' points in that game. unfortunately, Meetu's tournament was cut short by a freak elbow injury in just the 5th match of the tournament for Bhaini School. Meetu scored a massive 85 raid points in the 5 games he played which ensured that he will take the role of the main raider in the dream team of K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021.
2. Ashu Malik (Right Raider, AAA Kabaddi Academy)
Ashu Malik, captain of the AAA Kabaddi Academy was one of the complete raiders in the K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021. He led from the front for his team and played a crucial role in helping them to the Semi-Finals of the tournament. Ashu crossed the 20 point mark in a game 3 times in the tournament making him the best raider of the tournament. Ashu's best performance in the tournament came against a good-looking Bhaini School, he scored 26 points in the game to play out an interesting tie. Ashu was awarded the best raider of the tournament for scoring 176 raid points in 268 raids. Making it an easy choice to add Ashu to the dream team of K7 Kabaddi Stage Up.
3. Vinay Virender (Left Raider, NK Kabaddi Academy)
Vinay Virender, a young lanky raider from the champion team NK Academy played a crucial role in the team's road to the championship. He took the role of the lead raider after Rakesh Sangorya got injured and performed to the expectations. Vinay in the K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021 had consistent performances to help his team come on top. Vinay's best performance in the tournament came against Chhaju Ram Kabaddi Academy where scored 16 raid points in the match. Vinay towards the end of the tournament scored 10+ points in most of the game to put NK Academy in the winners' position and eventually win the title. Vinay scored a total of 137 raid points to finish in the top 5 raiders of the tournament. Vinay will play as a 3rd raider in the Dream team of K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021.
Corner Defenders
4. Krishan (Right Corner, NK Kabaddi Academy)
Krishan, one of the best young Right Corner defenders in the country had a tournament to remember where he played a pivotal role in helping NK Academy attain glory in the K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021. Krishan was the leader of the pack in defense for his team where produced consistent performances to help his team. His top performance in the tournament came against Khokhar Kabaddi Academy where he scored 7 tackle points in 7 tackle attempts in the match. Krishan was awarded as the best defender of the tournament for his 66 tackle points in 100 tackles in the K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021. In the final against P and J Kabaddi Academy, he played a crucial role by scoring 5 tackle points to bag the best defender of the final. Making it a no-brainer to include him in the dream team to fill the Right Corner position.
5. Akshay Kumar (Left Corner, AAA Kabaddi Academy)
Akshay Kumar, lead defender of AAA Kabaddi Academy had an impressive K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021 as he was the best defender for his team and played well in crucial encounters. Akshay Kumar was the leader of the defense pack of AAA Kabaddi Academy where he was seen controlling the team during opposition raids. His best performance of the tournament came against Warriors Kabaddi Academy where he scored 10 tackle points in 10 tackles in the match. Akshay scored 55 tackle points in the tournament to finish in the top 3 best defenders of the tournament. He will be part of the Dream Team of K7 Kabaddi Stage Up as a Left Corner defender.
Cover Defenders
6. Mohit Jaipal (Right Cover, P and J Kabaddi Academy)
Mohit Jaipal, captain of the P and J Kabaddi Academy continued his good run from the K7 Qualifiers to the K7 Kabaddi Stage Up. He was one of the most effective Right Cover defenders in the tournament. He led from the front and helped his team finish runners-up in the tournament. Mohit produced consistent performances in the crucial Super 6 and Knock out stage of the tournament. He finished the Super 6 stage as the 3rd best defender with 21 tackle points in 39 tackles. Mohit showed glimpses of leadership skills where he led the defensive unit and also his team- P and J Kabaddi Academy in the tournament. His best performance of the tournament came against DNH Foundation in the crucial Super 6 encounter where he scored 5 tackle points in 7 tackles to help his team win the match. Overall Mohit finished the K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021 with 41 tackle points to finish 6th best defender in the tournament (all matches). Making it a strong case to fill the Right Cover position in the Dream Team of K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021.
7. Jaideep (Left Cover, Bhaini School)
Jaideep, the left cover defender who impressed everyone during the 46th and 47th Junior Nationals playing for SAI with his performances represented the Bhaini School in the K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021. He was the best Left Cover defender in the tournament and also led from the front for his team in defense. Jaideep produced consistent performances for his team where he scored a minimum of 3 points in most of the games he played. His best performance came against Narwal Kabaddi and Sports, where he scored 9 tackle points in 10 tackles to win the game for Bhaini School. He finished as the 2nd best defender in the Super 6 stage and 4th best in the whole tournament. He scored a total of 43 tackle points in 82 tackles in the K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021 to seal the Left Cover position in the Dream Team of the tournament.
