Deepak Niwas Hooda notched up his fourth consecutive ‘Super 10’ as the Panthers’ all-rounder laced his raiding style on the day with the perfect mix of maturity and aggression as the two teams ended the game on a stalemate with the scores reading 30-30 at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune.
With a hat-trick of ‘Super 10s’ proving the perfect shot in the arm ahead of the game, the onus was on Deepak Hooda to trouble the Pune defence which he did right from the start as he kept chipping away with the points to bring the lead to Jaipur’s side as the two sides went into the break.
In the second half, the Pune defence came to life and led by Girish Ernak, made life difficult for the Jaipur raiders – barring Deepak Hooda. The lanky raider was in his element all through the final minute as he was unfortunate to miss out on being awarded two points against the one point in his final raid of the game, which saw the scores being levelled on 30-30 at fulltime.
