Bengaluru Bulls Pro Kabaddi Season 7 Team Analysis
The Pro Kabaddi Auction ahead of Season 7 was a highly anticipated affair with several teams looking to put together the remaining pieces of the jigsaw puzzle but also others looking to hit the reset button as they move forward with a completely new unit filled with new personnel. The auction wasn’t short of the star quotient either, with the likes of Monu Goyat, Rahul Chaudhari, Abozar Mighani, Sandeep Narwal, Nitin Tomar, Rishank Devadiga and Siddharth Desai all up for grabs!
There are positives and negatives when it comes to re-booting a side completely in an auction that has 12 teams vying for top players. On one hand, the purse available is significantly larger (teams like Puneri Paltan, Telugu Titans & UP Yodha had this luxury) than several other sides that have retained their core and that gives the team owners the ability to bully the auction a little and raise the price of players which competing owners definitely want back in their squads. On the other hand however, with 11 other teams vying for each player, the chances of putting together a balanced side from scratch become harder than when it was in an 8-team league and each team’s strategy tables have gotten smarter too with every passing auction.
Time to jump straight into our analysis of each team ahead of this Pro Kabaddi Season 7 and give you a detailed breakdown of the side with the strengths and potential gaps, which need to be addressed before July arrives. We at Kabaddi Adda have decided to detail each squad with a SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats) to understand where they currently stand but also to give all Kabaddi fans an idea of where these teams could find room to improve as the season kicks off…and we certainly expect a few surprises too!

Pro Kabaddi League Season 6 Champions, the Bengaluru Bulls, were sublime last time around and found a way to unleash Pawan Sehrawat who turned out to be a diamond in the rough for the franchise alongside Mr. Consistent, Rohit Kumar. Being one of the youngest teams of PKL in terms of average age, they thrive on the exuberance of youth and the fearlessness that comes with it. They have stuck with that team spirit going forward into PKL 7 too and are heavily reliant on Pawan and Captain Rohit to lead the way and carry them through in the raid department which otherwise doesn’t boast of much else.
The auction was a success for the squad in the sense that they have kept the 80% of the title winning team together with Pawan, Rohit, Ashish Sangwan, Amit Sheoran (who was a revelation on the left corner), Mahender Singh (the star of their campaign), Raju Lal Choudhary, Sumit Singh, Sandeep and Ankit all remaining with the squad. The challenge will be to retain the level of play and aggression that we saw in PKL 6 from the men in red who were one of the most attractive sides to watch in terms of the style of Kabaddi they played, taking the game to the opposition with a will to win.

Mahender Singh was expensive to get back in the squad at 80L but is perhaps the biggest asset given the way his young shoulders handled the entire defense, which often looked shaky without his presence. Ashish Sangwan beside him will need to lift his standards to what we saw a couple of seasons ago and the purchase of young, lanky Vijay Kumar in the right corner gives them the ability to close the one leak we saw constantly even in PKL 6. It’s a team that has retained its winning combination and also plugged the few holes which could only make them more lethal in PKL 7 if they do indeed live up to their potential once again.
The raiding is essentially a two-raider attack of Rohit and Pawan with not much else and that is perhaps the only threat in what looks like a very solid unit that would love nothing more than to go back-to-back and win another title in 2019!
