Ghar Se Panga: PM Narendra Modi interacts with Ajay Thakur amid COVID-19 pandemic

Former Indian men's Kabaddi team skipper Ajay Thakur interacted with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, through video conferencing about the current situation of the country. Thakur was one of the 40 sportspersons that the PM spoke to about the measures to contain the spread of the corona virus pandemic. After his talks with the PM, Thakur urged the fans to strictly follow the lockdown in a video posted on Instagram. 

Working as a DSP in the Himachal Pradesh Police, Thakur has been patrolling the streets of Bilaspur. He had earlier shared photos of him and his team on the streets urging people to stay inside their homes. Ajay has been actively spreading awareness about the pandemic that has brought the country to halt and urging people to stay safe and take care of themselves.

Thakur briefed the PM about the work that is being done in his district. He said, "We have been continuously following the orders of the Ministry of Health and the whole Kabaddi family is involved in spreading the awareness of the situation to the fans and the people of the country. In Bilaspur, the police department is making people aware of social distancing and how to practice it." PM Modi praised the efforts being taken and also said that the citizens of the country have a huge amount of respect for the work that the police is doing. Apart from Thakur, the PM also spoke to other great sportspersons like Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, PT Usha, Vishwanathan Anand, PV Sindhu, and Mary Kom.
