Baburao Chandere Foundation, one of the 16 teams who entered the pre-quarterfinals had players like Vikas Kale and Akshay Jadhav in the team. They entered the tournament as the favorites and rightly so. Starting their campaign against Chetak Sports Club, they won the match 38-9. It was a similar result against Saraswati Krida Sansthan as the Vikas Kale led team showed complete domination to win the quarterfinal match 38-15. Reaching the final after defeating Sai Sports Academy in the semis, it was clear that they would go on to win the tournament.
They faced Utkarsha Krida Sanstha in the finals, one of the other heavyweight teams of the tournament. They had won their pre-quarterfinals against Shri Krushna Kabaddi Sangha 32-21, before a tight match against Atul Dada Benake Sports Club.
However, Utkarsha Krida failed to give a tight competition in the finals against Baburao Chandere Foundation, with the later clinching the match as well as the competition 43-11.
